Gabriela E. Litov

Gabriela E. Litov, President

Gabriela E. Litov, President and founder of EGL Properties, is a Licensed California Real Estate Broker and a member of the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA), Apartment Owners Association (AOA), the Beverly Hills/Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors and the Southern Regional Association of Realtors. Gabriela oversees the operations of the corporation.

Gabriela has a BA from the University of California, Riverside, and a Masters from the University of Washington.

Elie Litov, Chief Financial Officer

Elie Litov has been investing and managing real estate for over thirty years. Before joining EGL Properties, Elie was working as a physicist in the aerospace industry. At EGL, Elie oversees all financial matters for the company, including banking, taxes, and insurance.

Elie has his BS from University of California, Los Angeles, Masters from University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington.

Michal L. Vaakil, Vice President

Ms. Vaakil has been with EGL for nearly eight years, and is currently responsible for the approximately 1000 units under management. Under her direct supervision, she coordinates the efforts of the property supervisors and the maintenance supervisor, as well as resident managers and bookkeeping.

Currently, Michal’s primary responsibility is to interface and report directly to clients and ensure that their properties are maintained at the highest possible standard. She reviews all financial reports and oversees tenant relations. She approves major repairs and is the signatory on all trust accounts.

Prior to joining EGL Properties, Michal was a Property Manager with Douglas, Emmett and Company from 1997-2000. Michal Vaakil has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a BA from Smith College. She is a licensed Salesperson with the California Department of Real Estate and has been certified by the Westside Fair Housing Council. Michal has completed the Resident Manager Course offered through the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles and has taken numerous courses on property management and real estate finance.

Irmenia "Mabel" Salcedo, Senior Portfolio Manager

Ms. Salcedo has been at EGL for over six years. At EGL she is responsible for all tasks relating to supervision of residential properties, including leases, rent collections, generating financial reports, inspection of vacancies, and serving legal notices. She interfaces with maintenance workers and vendors.

Prior to joining EGL, she worked for two years as a Property Supervisor for LB Property Management and at Coreland Carlson Real Estate Management for 6 years as a manager of commercial and residential units. Her tasks included preparation of financial reports, administration of commercial and residential sites, collection of rents, inspection of properties, serving legal notices, court appearances pursuant to unlawful detainer actions, scheduling of maintenance repairs with vendors and subcontractors, analyzing bids, and compliance with HUD requirements.

Carlos Martinez, Maintenance Supervisor

Mr. Martinez is responsible for overseeing all maintenance at EGL.  Carlos has worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for EGL for the past nine years.  Currently, his duties include overall supervision of the maintenance crew, which does all routine maintenance for properties managed by EGL.  He trains maintenance workers, supervises the buying of materials for maintenance jobs, meets with the crew and assigns their work, and goes to the work sites to supervise the work being done.  Carlos also ensures that the maintenance staff adheres to all local building codes and works under safety controls.  He maintains contact with EGL vendors and approves all work done by contractors such as plumbers, carpet layers, electricians and painters.  He checks all vendor invoices for accuracy.  He supervises inspections by Section 8 as well as Systematic Code Enforcement Program, Health Dept., and Building and Safety.  He supervises vacancies to make them ready for re-rental. He takes emergency calls and dispatches vendors after business hours.  He prepares work estimates and checks all work orders done by the maintenance crew for accuracy and completion.

Before his tenure at EGL, Carlos owned and operated his own appliance and repair company.  He has completed coursework at West Valley Occupational Center and has been certified in Refrigeration by the State of California.  He also has a HUD certificate on lead based paint.

Frank Macias, Accounting Supervisor

Mr. Macias serves as the Accounting Supervisor and he brings a vast amount of knowledge to EGL. Born and raised in West Los Angeles, earned his BA at UCLA, an AA degree in Accounting, an AA degree in Real Estate, an AA degree in Business and is fluent in Spanish.
